Facilities

Since 2015, we have been operating from our state-of-the-art accommodation in Echt, the Netherlands. Here you’ll find all the required facilities, which we have designed ourselves up to every detail based on our years of experience. Let’s have a look at our facilities:

short-stay stable

The first boxes you see at our yard are these, used for all horses staying in the EU. The EU stables hold 39 spacious boxes, all numbered. There is a form on every door showing relevant information on the horse and all its transport essentials are kept near the box.

long-stay stable

These stables encompass 45 spacious boxes for horses staying with us longer, often associated with a quarantine period. The stables are made of five compartments. Every compartment is fully equipped and can be used completely autonomously as a quarantine area due to section doors and individual entrances/exits.

indoor riding area

Gelissen Horse Transport boasts a spacious 30×60-metres indoor riding arena that was constructed using sustainable materials and methods. The hall is used by riders or grooms that want to exercise their horses under the saddle. It may also function as a training area for a rider renting stables at our yard.

indoor horse exerciser

Between the stables and the riding arena is our spacious horse exerciser. As it has been constructed indoors, it can be used in all weather conditions, allowing the horses to be exercised whenever necessary.

pastures and paddocks

Our location also holds pastures and paddocks. The pastures are inhabited by our companionship ponies. The grasslands are close to our eight grass paddocks, four of which have higher fencing. These high-fenced paddocks are three metres apart and may be used during a quarantine period, if this is allowed according to quarantine protocol.

guest accommodation

We offer our customers the opportunity to stay on the premises near their horses. People who are in transit with their horses often make use of our three double bedrooms.
